UV Photo Booth
Our UV Photo Booth is a specialised imaging system that reveals how ultraviolet light affects the skin. Originally commissioned by Nivea, the system uses a modified UV camera to show the effectiveness of sunscreen and the impact of sun exposure.
The booth captures two photographs simultaneously. One image is taken in normal colour and the second using ultraviolet imaging. When viewed side by side the difference becomes instantly visible.
These powerful comparisons help guests understand how sunscreen protects the skin and why sun protection is important.
Our UV photo booth is widely used for skincare brand activations, educational campaigns and exhibitions.
How the UV Photo Booth Works
The system uses a specially modified UV sensitive camera combined with controlled lighting.
When a photo is taken the booth captures two images at the same time:
• a normal colour photograph
• a UV spectrum photograph
Sunscreen appears very dark under UV light because it blocks ultraviolet radiation. This makes it easy to see whether sunscreen has been applied evenly.
The final image is printed instantly or displayed digitally so guests can clearly compare the results.
Smart Sunscreen Visualisation
Our UV camera technology allows guests to see exactly how well sunscreen has been applied.
Under ultraviolet light properly applied sunscreen appears as a dark protective layer across the skin. Areas that are missed or applied unevenly become visible immediately.
This creates a powerful educational experience where participants can see the protection provided by sunscreen rather than simply hearing about it.
The system is also useful for demonstrating:
• sunscreen coverage
• makeup removal
• skin condition changes
• sun damage awareness

Understanding UV Radiation
Ultraviolet radiation is divided into three main categories.
UVA
These rays penetrate deeply into the skin and contribute to premature aging and long term skin damage.
UVB
These rays are stronger and are responsible for sunburn and increased risk of skin cancer.
UVC
These rays are absorbed by the ozone layer and do not reach the earth’s surface.
The UV photo booth helps visualise how sunscreen blocks harmful ultraviolet light.
We have a dedicated website for our UV Photo Booths www.uvcamerahire.com
UV Camera for Events and Exhibitions
The UV booth has become a popular installation for exhibitions, product launches and educational campaigns.
Brands and organisations use it to demonstrate skincare science in an engaging and interactive way.
Participants can instantly see the difference between protected and unprotected skin, making the experience memorable and informative.
Images can be printed instantly or displayed on screens during the event.

UV Photo Booth Brand Activations
Many skincare and cosmetic brands use the UV booth for experiential marketing campaigns.
The interactive nature of the technology attracts attention and encourages visitors to participate.
Campaign uses include:
• sunscreen demonstrations
• skincare product launches
• health awareness campaigns
• beauty brand activations
• retail promotions
The system can also be customised with branded graphics and campaign messaging.

Exposure to UV radiation can lead to erythema, sunburn, photodamage including premature aging, photocarcinogenesis, eye damage, skin immune system alteration and chemical hypersensitivity depending on the type and amount of radiation, as well as the individual’s skin type.
Check out our stereo camera effect. By using two cameras simultaneously, one capturing in normal colour and the other with a UV lens, we create a unique and captivating visual experience.
Custom UV Photo Booth Installations
Coco Photo Booths can design custom UV booth installations for brand campaigns and exhibitions.
For example, we created a bespoke UV imaging booth for Image Cosmetics at an exhibition in Palm Beach, Florida. The installation was designed to match the brand’s artwork and created a powerful demonstration of skincare science.
Customisation options include:
• branded booth structures
• campaign graphics
• custom photo layouts
• display screens and monitors
• interactive educational content

Television and Media Appearances
Our UV camera technology has appeared in several high profile campaigns.
We collaborated with Channel 4 and Stand Up To Cancer to demonstrate the importance of sunscreen during a live broadcast. Using the UV camera, we showed viewers how ultraviolet light reveals hidden sun damage and why protection is essential.
The technology has also been used at exhibitions and promotional events for leading skincare brands.

UV Camera Technology
Our UV system uses two cameras simultaneously to capture images in different spectrums.
This stereo imaging technique allows a normal photograph and ultraviolet image to be captured at the same moment.
The result is a striking visual comparison that reveals skin protection, sunscreen coverage and the effects of ultraviolet exposure.
